Free and Easy Witchcraft Spell to Return a Lost Lover - From the book "Homemade Hoodoo"

From my latest book Homemade Hoodoo , here is a spell for calling back a lost love. All the spells in the book are designed to be performed without ingredients that you would need to buy at an occult shop; instead everything uses common items which can be found at most supermarkets and drugstores.  Return A Lost Lover  ● lavender essential oil  ● paper, measuring about 3” x 5”  ● permanent marker  ● a tall drinking glass  ● 7 candles (white or pink are best)   1. Write the absent lover’s full name seven times on the paper. 2. Put the paper into a drinking glass and fill the glass with water. 3. Pour two tablespoons of lavender oil into the cup (it’s fine if it floats on top.) 4. Put the glass underneath your bed and don’t disturb it till your target returns. 5. With the marker, write your lover’s name on each candle three times. 6. Each day, burn one candle in front of a window, until you’ve burned all the candles. ...

What Does It Mean When a Candle Burns Such-and-Such a Way? Magical Mysteries Answered!

In magic, almost anything can become an omen.  From the speed of a candle's burn to the quantity of wax left behind, everything takes on significance in traditional spellcasting. I should mention here that while certain burn patterns have a "traditional" meaning, I do not actually find all of these to be reliable. In fact, the only thing I've found to have a consistent and reliable meaning of any sort in my own practice, is if a candle goes out prematurely -- that is always inauspicious and indicates the work is really having a hard time coming through. Unless you're dealing with a defective candle, it probably means that it will not come to pass. Some other common phenomena that are used to read omens are: Candle burns clean, with little to no residue or remaining wax . As I was taught, this is desirable and a sign that that spell has taken and that there is nothing "left behind" to create further obstacles or that needs more work. However,...

The Haunted History of Feather Pillows and Witch Wreaths - Hoodoo Superstition

I own two feather pillows. Recently I was finding that both had grown resistant to all efforts to fluff them. It was obviously time to buy new ones after more than 10 years. It occurred to me that if I pulled the stuffing out from one and used it to refill the other, I'd only have to buy one new pillow instead of two. I'd read enough ancient household management guides that I knew how to replace feather filling, so I went for it. When I cut open the pillows, I found one of them had developed a strange rope-like quality to many of the feathers. They'd grown matted and stuck together in many places. Lafcadio Hearn in his "New Orleans Superstitions" article of 1886 wrote: It is believed that by secret spells a "Voudoo" can cause some monstrous kind of bird or nondescript animal to shape itself into being out of the pillow feathers--like the tupilek of the Esquimau iliseenek (witchcraft.) It grows very slowly, and by night only; but when ...

Hoodoo's Notorious Black Cat Bones Come from an Ancient Black Cat Spell

The hoodoo "Black Cat" spell is notorious. It was one of the most commonly reported hoodoo rituals I found described in historic reports when researching my book Conjurin' Ole Time  (now republished as Conjuration)  and even now, when few are still willing to deliberately harm animals in their magical workings, conjure products claiming to be Black Cat Bones and Black Cat Oil remain popular (even if most of these products no longer contain cats and serve as mere symbols of the tradition.) The original purpose of the black cat bone was to render the user invisible. Over time it acquired a reputation for being able to produce other feats such as making the user immune to witchcraft, returning lost lovers and bringing tireless success in games. The ritual is said to have become known through certain versions of the St. Cyprian grimoire. Though named for an ancient saint, Owen Davies indicates that this grimoire only appeared in the 19th century.  However, it seem...

DIY Witchcraft Curse Removal for Unnatural Illness or Evil Voodoo Spells

A friend of mine had been going through a long period of exceedingly bad health. Her condition was diagnosed as diverticulitis but her symptoms were much, much more severe than anything most people with that disease seemed to suffer, and medical treatments didn't seem to be helping. She was winding up in the emergency room about once a month, the medical treatments were always ineffective, and she was so ill that she couldn't even work anymore, much less continue with what had previously been a very active social life.  After suffering this for over a year, she asked me for a spell to help, and I decided to start with uncrossing rituals -- just in case it was an "unnatural illness" caused by a curse, rather than a normal disease. (It's of note that I tend to think of magical health spells as kind of waste -- you're usually better off putting the energy into normal medical treatments, which evolved from practices that at one time would have been conside...

Ancient Secret: How to Find and Use Powerful 'Mad Stones' for Snake and Rabid Animal Bites - Magic Rocks from ca. 1870

How to Find, How to Prepare, and How To Use the Great Natural Remedy for Bites of Poisonous Or Rabid Animals. — There are several possessors of what are called "mad stones," and each of these persons is regarded as peculiarly fortunate to possess the article, which has, in many cases, been handed down from generation to generation, or has been purchased at a high price. The wonders achieved by such stones have many witnesses in their respective sections, and a single little stone has yielded its owner a handsome income, as persons bitten by snakes, mad dogs, etc., will readily pay $2 to $10 merely to be allowed to apply the marvelous stone to the wound. The finding of these stones has been so far mere chance. I propose to tell how they can be obtained with greater certainty. In nearly every section there is what is known as "red shale" or "red shell," and also of a darker color, a nearly black variety of similar rocks. Among specimens of both these minera...

DIY Magic Spell to Force Your Loved One to Stay With You - Mind Control Magic

You need: A sock from the spell's target (preferably worn but unwashed -- a washed sock is better than nothing but not as good as an unwashed.) A sock of your own (likewise, unwashed) A fidelity incense like Stay with Me, No One But Me, Only Me, etc.  Begin by lighting the incense. Then, take the two socks and in the smoke of the incense, tie them together -- if possible, into 3 knots, though just 1 knot is okay if the socks are too small. Hold the socks in the perfumed smoke and say, "What's been joined, let no one pull apart" and repeat this over and over, holding the socks in the incense, till the smoke goes out. Hide the socks under your mattress, and be sure they remain there undisturbed. If you ever change your mind about this person you must burn the two socks together to destroy them.
